There are a lot of factors to take into account when searching for car insurance and when trying to locate cheap auto insurance you’ve got to do your homework. Within the insurance industry, competition is tough and premiums vary tremendously. Benefit from this by analyzing around and keep an eye out for rate reduction, which many insurance carriers offer at different times of the year, to get more customers.

1. Ask Your Friends

You may start out your search by questioning good friends and family members for information and support about quality insurance agents they did business with earlier. Your social network should give you some good start point and that may allow you to expand your horizon concerning your preference. Plus, questioning friends may permit you to avert certain choices, thus saving you time and dollars.

2. Probe the Competition

Combine to what your people advised by collecting more information online, information concerning the strength and weaknesses of your possible insurance carrier. But the right strategy to get your quote information is to check specific auto insurance companies and work with an independent agent. In contrast with captive agents who deal with one insurer, independent agents legally represent many insurance companies, and, hence can give more premium options. This can be managed online, over the phone or, simply, in person. Make sure to allow them know you are shopping around and it might help them to give you the cheapest price possible.

3. Credits and Discounts

Many times a company will instantly offer certain credits to its potential customers. Don’t expect the lowest rate is the number one rate offered. Ask for credits! Some will offer a discounts in rate for many interesting life issues, like:

a. Discounts for insuring multiple cars

b. Discount for prior insurance c. Credit for owning a home/ condo d. Discounts for students good grades e. Low mileage use credits f. Multiple Account Discount- Discount for having more than type of insurance with the same insurer g. Credit for an alarm h. Part time operator credit

You need to ask for specific credits because it is not in the agents or company’s financial benefit to freely offer everything available.

4. History of Your Driving

While shopping for cheap auto insurance, risk is the first element that insurance companies look at when it comes to pricing an auto insurance policy. If they have reasons to believe that you are at higher risk of creating road accidents or traffic tickets, then the more likely you will need to file claims. This costs them money so your policy will become higher. Some of the risks they look at are history of your driving, date of birth and occupation. If you have a lot of tickets on your driving record or are under the age of 25, you will likely pay a much higher premium. Bear in mind, that if you go for several years without any incidents on your record, many companies will automatically lower your insurance costs. And if you get married or have life insurance or other insurances with the same insurance company, then more discounts may apply.

5. Get What You Need, Not What They Want To Sell

A few people are under the impression that they need full coverage on any vehicle they own. The reality is, if you don’t have a loan that you pay monthly on for the car, or if it’s older than six years or worth less than few thousand dollars, don’t waste your money, liability insurance is all what the law asks for. Full coverage may possibly end up costing you more than the worth of the vehicle. Else, liability with a high deductible on the full coverage may be suitable for you needs and won’t break the budget.

It doesn’t have to be hard to identify cheap auto insurance. Take some time doing the research so that you are not caught off guard. Unexpected additions that look like must-haves are not always needed no matter what the agent may tell you. This includes bond cards, duplicate towing (if you already got road side assistance, etc.)

Foods that are high in fiber are widely believed to be beneficial to the body. It is now understood that foods containing fiber, particularily fiber in whole grain foods such as brown rice or whole grain breads, are helpful in maintaining a healthy digestive system. A fiber rich diet can prevent and treat constipation , diverticulosis and hemorrhoids. A high fiber diet can also reduce the risk of heart disease through the reduction of blood cholestoreol levels.

Less well founded claims include the claim that dietary fiber may reduce the risk of some cancers , especially colon cancer. Such claims are made on the supposition that dietary fiber improves the efficiency of the digestive system if eaten regularily, and therefore a person with a fiber rich diet is less likely to be exposed to toxins within the remainder of their diet for as long a period of time as an individual with less fiber in their diet.

A further health benefit of a fiber rich diet is that foods high in fiber can help to maintain a healthy body weight. High fiber foods are often low in calorie whilst providing enough bulk to leave a diner feeling full. Fiber rich foods often require more chewing before swallowing preventing a person from eating a large calorific intake in a short time.

The question is how can you put more fiber in your diet without making your diet taste too bland?

Once you are able to identify high fiber foods you will be surprised at how you can improve your health with small changes without sacrificing to much taste from your diet and in many cases by improving the taste of your diet.

The only sources of dietary fiber available are from fruits, vegetables, nuts and grains so it is quite easy to identify high fiber foods. Foodstuffs from animals such as eggs, milk and meat do not contain fiber. Whether food is fresh, frozen or canned often does not make any difference to the fiber content. Be careful to avoid dried or crushed fruits or vegetables and remember that fruits and vegetables without seeds and peels have less fiber than those with seeds and peels.

It may be wise to consider that any additional fiber in your diet over and above what you currently eat will be beneficial for you but when you consider that a daily intake of about 25-35 grams is generally recommended you may be surprised to know that all it takes is a bowl of 100% bran flakes with a banana for breakfast and a can of baked beans for lunch to bring you all the benefits of a high fiber diet.

On Sunday, a long-distance snapshot of New Jersey governor and former Republican United States presidential candidate Chris Christie and his family on a beach outside the gubernatorial residence in Island Beach State Park went public, raising criticism of the governor, who had ordered Island Beach and the rest of New Jersey’s state parks closed the previous Friday amid a budget dispute. The response included comments from fellow Republicans and tourists, a plane over Seaside Park, and a variety of memes showing the Governor’s beach chair digitally added to other images.

“[Christie’s] rise to national prominence was that he had this reputation as a fighter, and that when he was fighting he was on the side of the Everyman and the New Jersey taxpayer against the status quo,” Republican political strategist Kevin Madden offered. “I think the danger of the photos is that it undermines that.”

Christie’s lieutenant governor, Kim Guadagno, said, “If I were governor, I sure wouldn’t be sitting on the beach if taxpayers didn’t have access to state beaches. We need to end the shutdown now. It’s hurting small businesses and ordinary New Jerseyans.” Guadagno is planning to run for governor.

One visitor to Atlantic City, New Jersey — Matt Jenkins — told the press, “I think it’s a shame, it’s hideous.”

Regardless of whether they shared Jenkins’ opinion, users of Photoshop and similar programs added the Governor in his beach gear to images of television programs such as Jersey Shore and The Sopranos, movies like Jaws, and one scene from the Oval Office.

On Monday, a plane towed a banner over Seaside Park reading, “Tell Gov Christie: Get the hell off Island Beach State Park,” echoing the Governor’s own words in 2011, in which he told visitors “Get the hell off the beach” as Hurricane Irene approached. The plane received applause from beachgoers.

The dispute that precipitated the shutdown concerned a law letting the New Jersey state government decide how much money the state-founded health insurer Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey would be allowed to accumulate before being required to contribute to the New Jersey state health fund passed the state Senate but not the House, which is largely made up of Democrats. Governor Christie supported the bill. On Sunday, he told the press he would sign any budget the legislature sent him so long as the bill is passed as well: “If they send it to me with Horizon, I will sign it. If they send it to me without Horizon I will use my authority to make a smaller budget[…] If they send me a budget today the shutdown would be over. The Legislature is deciding not to send me either budget.” The smaller budget that the governor proposed would include less funding for schools and other programs. Late Monday, the state legislature complied with the governor’s stipulations, and Governor Christie signed the bill, reopening the state’s parks in time for the Fourth of July holiday.

Christie enjoyed an approval rating of roughly 70% after his response in 2012 to Hurricane Sandy, but his popularity suffered following a 2016 scandal called Bridgegate, in which some of his aides ordered some of the entry lanes into the George Washington Bridge, a major artery for the commute from New Jersey into New York City, closed during rush hour, possibly as political retaliation against a politician in Fort Lee, New Jersey, the town most potently affected by the closure. He also lost the Republican presidential nomination to now-President Donald Trump and the vice presidential nomination to Mike Pence.

Christie defended his decision not to cancel his family’s vacation plans by pointing out that many of New Jersey’s beaches, over 100 miles (160 km) remained open to visitors and saying that he has the right to use the gubernatorial residence and that his visit required no government services. The Guardian noted a state helicopter shuttled the governor between the park and the state capital, Trenton.

New Jersey is one of several U.S. states that did not have budgets ready for the fiscal year. The northeastern state of Maine also underwent a government shutdown.

Drug maker Merck & Co. was found liable for a person’s death concerning the use of the pain medication Vioxx, according to a jury verdict in a Texas court.

The plaintiff’s case, headed by the widow of Robert Ernst, who died in 2001 of an irregular heartbeat and of clogged arteries while on the drug Vioxx, was successfully awarded $253.4 million dollars. Vioxx was pulled from the shelves in 2004 after a study discovered it could double the risk of a heart attack or stroke if taken for longer than 1.5 years. However, the US government agency, the FDA, decided in February of this year to allow the product back on the shelves.

Merck’s stock price dropped 10% within minutes of the verdict being announced, and continued to fall hours after. There are in excess of 4,200 other Vioxx-related lawsuits pending across the USA.

The company plans to appeal the decision.

Japan’s government has declared its first ever “nuclear emergency” after pressure rises in the No. 1 reactor at the Fukushima Daiichi power plant, combined with a minor radiation leak, caused a 10 km radius around the plant to be evacuated. An attempt to relieve the pressure inside the containment vessels of the plant has been delayed.

The Tokyo Electric Power Company’s 40-year old nuclear facility, 270 km NE of Tokyo, reported mechanical difficulties with its cooling system, although the automated shutdown systems worked correctly. With the core reaction shut down the plant is no longer actively generating heat, but the fuel rods continue to generate excess heat and radiation and need constant cooling.

The cooling system runs a constant flow of water to take the heat away from the submerged fuel rods, but the pumping system requires electricity to operate even after the plant is no longer producing electricity itself—generally from back-up diesel or natural gas generators.
