Why do car dealerships in Tennessee collect a business and metro/county tax and the county does not?

Posted in: car dealerships | | 1 Comment »>

When you purchase a car in Tennessee from a dealership they collect a business and metro/county tax in addition to state taxes and if you purchase a car from an individual and pay taxes yourself the county only collects the state tax? Is this profit to the dealership?

No, most likely it’s a gross receipts tax levied on the dealership. Most businesses pass on gross receipts taxes to their customers although they are not specifically required to do so.

How much is the difference between financing a car and paying it all completely?

Posted in: car financing | | 2 Comments »>

I have enough money to buy the car that I want but I was wondering if I just pay half of the car and pay the rest by financing it , if that would cost alot more then just paying for the car up front at the dealership……btw its a Jeep Wrangler if that helps

unless you can get a 0% interest rate you will end up paying much more by not paying all at once. The bank will charge you a percent of total amount that you borrowed, that’s how banks make money. When I bought my 1st car I had an 11% interest rate and a 5 year loan, over those five years I payed an extra $3,000 Pay it all up front, that’s the best bet.

is it possible to get auto financing being a first time car buyer with no pay stubs?

Posted in: auto financing | | 2 Comments »>

i am a first time carbuyer, i am self employed, i have a 700+ credit score with very clean credit. although, i dont have any W2’s, paystub or anything like that. i am a real estate flipper so i dont have an employer except for my LLC, but on paper i loose money every year. i have over 200k in cash in the bank, and i would be more than willing to put down 20k on a 60k car i want, but can i get financing on the remaining balance? i can verify the assets, but i havent received any type of paycheck in years. does anyone know who i could call or where i could go to get this done? is there a website i could go to or a particular bank? thanks a lot, i really appreciate it your help with this.

As long as you have been paying off some kinda credit card for a few years, then yes… you can finance with very low interest. However, if thats not the case 700 is great, but doesnt mean anything b/c its not establish. You don’t have to prove that you’re getting paid, you just have to prove that you are reliable to pay back people.
