Since most other industry has been shipped over to China, what about the auto dealers?

Posted in: auto dealers | | 2 Comments »>

Since the economy is bad and we have tons of unemployment. Wonder what would have happened if they had kept all the businesses here. The South lost most of it in the 70s and 80s and that’s why they have such high unemployment.
Thanks for that point Bub. Wonder why we cannot do that, think of all the jobs that would be here, why even all te undocumented people would have jobs and there would be not unemployment. great answer.

Not exactly sure what you are trying to say? Dealers in China would make it hard to have warranty work done on your car. We need to support American businesses that have workers in the U.S. We need to put tariffs on goods coming into our country to make it feasible for businesses to start here and make products here and the costs be comparable. Most if not all foreign companies are supported by their governments (instead of unemployment, they put people to work even if the product is made at a loss and ship it over here to sell) so they can sell them cheaper even if the labor costs were equal.

How do you approach auto dealers to offer your services to them(tires, wheels, accessories)?

Posted in: auto dealers | | 2 Comments »>

I am trying to find tire dealers that have done this and if it was successful or a waste of time.If it even benefits you to try this.

From several years of experience working in the auto industry (sales & service), I have found that when vendors solicited products and/or services in person rather than by phone it was better received. The auto sales/service industry is very dependant on their phones..they don’t have time to entertain cold calls from vendors.

Is the recommendation of changing the timing belt on a car every 100k miles a scam by auto dealers?

Posted in: auto dealers | | 6 Comments »>

Do most people really spend
800 dollars to get it changed, or do they just take their chances?

Not a scam, timing belt will break soon if over 100k miles, any time and will cost thousand of dollars to repair mechanical damages when that happens. Some even breaks at over 50k miles, many times by water pump or tensioner pulley failured.

Are there banks out there that fianance people with bad credit for auto loans and arent tied to auto dealers?

Posted in: auto dealers | | 1 Comment »>

I have bad credit but no major issues like bankruptsy, child support or anything like that….I make great money and am trying to re-establish credit…I know there are banks out there tied to dealerships that will finance me but I want to buy from a private owner and go directly through an independant bank. I plan to put down about 50% cash? Please help!

You may want to search the net for banks in your local area that may offer auto loans for people with problem credit! You may have to call and ask that bank! Explain you situation about you credit! Sometimes if you explain your situation in advance and your credit report shows that you have been proactive in taking care of finances , they might finance you! Especially with a down payment. You just have to find the car you like! Right now the economy weak, and many banks are lury giving out loans! It is all about your debt, credit score, and your earnings. However, finding the right business is the key. Therefore, you might even consider getting a private loan to finance the other 50% part! ( Capital One or Wells Fargo, CitiFinancial etc…) Or the other option is to buy a good use vehicle! There are some out there 2000 ‘year plus and up prices 6,000 thousand plus. It just depends on the condition and miles. Dont forget to get a internal report on the car to check if it is lemon, how many owners had the car or been in any accident!!! There are many vehilces out there use you just have to search! With hard work, determination and research you can find the rihgt one! It just take patience and time! Look in the Newspaper ( priavte owners), e-bay, even look at local bank for cars they are selling!

Hope it helps,

T.Y. :)

why doesnt auto dealers lower the prices on cars rather then ask for bail out money?

Posted in: auto dealers | | 10 Comments »>

to me, if i cant sale something, i lower the price if i want to get rid of it that bad.

The reason for the bailout request is because they’re losing tons of money. So to get out of the red, you want them to lose even more money? LOL

How will that solve anything????

The reason their cars aren’t selling is because they don’t build what people want. Their bread and butter were trucks and SUVs… and due to $4-5 gallon gas, people stopped buying those too.

Had they not spent the better part of the past 2 decades building sh*tty passenger cars…. maybe they wouldn’t be in this mess.
